SEM Microscope - Tescan VEGA II - XMU

Main characteristics:

-          Maximum resolution: 3,5 nm;

-          Voltage: 30keV;

-          Magnification: 1.000.000 x;

-          Detectors: SE and BSE;

-          Working environments: high and low vacuum;

-          Working samples: 7;

-          Stage: Full automatic;

 

 

Tensile-compression testing module Gatan MICROTEST-2000 (mounted inside SEM)

Main characteristics:

-          Maximum resolution: 0,1 N;

-          Maximum force: 2000 N;

-          Performed tests: tensile; compression; cyclic tests;

-          Testing speed: 0,03 – 4,0 mm/min;

-          Maximum sample extension: 10 mm.

 

Microhardness tester - Willson-Volpert 401MVA

Main characteristics:

-          Applied forces: 10 g – 1000 g;

-          Dwell time: 5 s – 60 s;

-          Stage control: 0,01 mm;

-          Objectives: 10x; 40x;

 

Universal mechanical testing machine - INSTRON 3382

Main characteristics:

-          Maximum resolution: 0,1 N;

-          Maximum testing force: 100 kN;

-          Testing speed: 1 – 100 mm/min

-          Maximum no. of extensometers: 3;

-          Performed tests: tensile / compression / bending / etc.

 

Four cylinders rolling-mills Mario di Maio LQR 120 AS

Main characteristics:

Our Research Group is using, also, other equiments:

- Laboratory rolling-mills for plate and round products;

- Heating / Heat treatment ovens;

- Drawing bench for wires and round products;

- Drop weight tester;

- Rockwell and Vickers hardness testers;

- Torsion testers;

- Tensile testers for wires;

- Charpy hammers;
- etc.

Our Research Group is planning to complete our equipments infrastructure with other new and modern equipments:

- Metallographic samples preparation line (Cutting /  Mounting / Grinding / Polishing machines);

- Mechanical samples preparation line (Cutting / Drawing / Grinding / machines);

- Cleaning samples line (cleaning baths; ultrasonic baths; etc);
